The Trixen Barn has been revamped!

Hey! Howdy, how’s it going? I got something a little different here; a full revamp to a pre-existing way of travel! You might be familiar with the Trixen Barn in Sinder, with it being a one-way trip to the Sacred Valley. Well, it was getting old and needed some love. So, I’ve gone ahead and given it a fresh coat of paint and expanded it to be the easiest way to fast travel to the northern areas!

Thanks to their area owners, giving permission, I have set up new Trixen Travel Posts in the following areas:

  • The Shattered Caverns
  • The Village of Tergaron
  • The Sacred Valley
  • The City of Winds

These Trixen Travel posts act as a fast travel between all the areas above, letting them connect to Sinder and making all of them easily accessible. Especially Tergaron. That place was a bit of a pain to get to! But now, they’re all just a few exits away.

Instead of the “hub” that the train is where every train goes to the station, there’s more of a “web” style of travel, where only certain travel posts can go to other posts. The Sacred Valley Travel Post can’t go to Sinder, for example. There’s a (poorly made) map at every Travel Post that shows where you can go.

I’ve gotten a little experimental with the exits. Seeing as the trixens are covering a fair distance with you, I’ve gone ahead and given the exits a bit of descriptive flair. I think it’s neat, but I can see it being a little annoying if you keep going through exits. If y’all don’t like it, let me know and I can slim them down.

If you find any problems with the Travel Posts, let me know! Any concerns or suggestions would be helpful, too.

Hey Archie!

I gave the new Trixen Travel Posts a proper test and honestly, I really like what you’ve done with them! The whole web-style system feels much more natural than simply having another central hub, and especially for Tergaron this is a huge improvement. Getting up there used to be a bit of an adventure in itself. xD

I also really like the longer descriptive travel messages! I can see how they might look a little huge on mobile, but personally I wouldn’t want to lose them because of that. They actually give you the feeling that you’re travelling across a considerable distance rather than just clicking an exit and suddenly appearing somewhere else. It adds a surprising amount of atmosphere to the journey.

I’ve tested the Tergaron connections and everything I’ve tried so far seems to work great. The little maps explaining the connections are a nice touch too!

So from my side: really nice work on the revamp, and thank you for including Tergaron! :sparkling_heart:
