Everyone knows that those pesky birds are actually a secret surveillance of the government… Right? Nah it couldn’t be, except it could just be with the concept I’m proposing.
Magic lovers, stealthy spies, and the downright shy could use their very own B1rd for the use of viewing a different area than the one such a character is currently in. To specifically, this would be a two part bot, needing two characters slots and a third party note system to relay messages.
The first character should be moveable, as so it can move like a regular player. The second however, resides in a fixed room where It relays a chat log collected by the first bot. I imagine it would work like the function of a Minecraft Chest-hopper-Chest, to elaborate the first collects chat activity, feeds it to a notepad of sorts, which feeds into the second bot to recite in a private room.
Any use of this system for lewd intents requires all watched parties consent, and mods are welcome to veiw either side at any time.
Alternatively Th3 B1rd, which is the movable party could have an anonymous function, where in it sits in a publicly accessible room, where players can talk to the bot about anything they need. I for one know how it feels to have no one to talk to with a load on your brain, be it irl stress or just juicy gossip you want to tell to something. In this mode the name section is removed from the chat relay replaced with ‘Anon’. None of the logs for either event are saved, unless a player, mod or the like has seen these logs.
Feel free to share your comments, concerns or whatever ever else about this, and any mod or coder is welcome to message me for a more in-depth explanation.
Hmmm, I don’t really think I like the idea of having a bot that can follow my roleplays without me know who the bot belongs to.
The best thing about wolfery is the freedom of privacy and I think that would breach said privacy.
What you are proposing is a bit that will message you all the events of a room that it is in to yourself, while I can make that I won’t - and most other programmers may agree with me.
I understand the concern, thus why there would need to be a consent to being watched. However, I’m morely hoping to see the anonymous function than the spy cam one. Thank you for at least reading and telling me it is a possible creation.
To elaborate, I’m aware of the grassy area of the hiking trail, and I simply figured it would be more helpful to stressed players if they had a thing at least to talk to. It’s lonely talking to an empty room.
This is kinda why the no object rule was created. People lingering with no intention to roleplay. Other muck can kinda peek who is in other rooms with wa without stepping in, I think this functionally was intentionally left out. This kinda activity is exactly what I don’t want to see in bots. Stresses me to be in public with spies
I don’t completely understand the need for a bot with this, It would be completely possible with another character and much less creepy. But still, spying on people would be a complete breach of their privacy. And for that reason, I would ask if you could refrain from doing so.
If I really wanted to see what was happening in a room I’d just have one of my characters go there, if it interests me enough I’ll try to get my character involved. There’s no point having a bot that can spy on others, I like keeping my characters anonymous as best I can and there are reasons I interact with some users with certain characters and not the others. Also, why talk to a bot when I can look at the awake list and see if I can find someone I’d like to trying rping with? It’d only be good for people trying to stir up trouble without risking getting their characters banned.
That reminds me, I was thinking of making a new bot that uses ai to respond to characters. Wondered what your thoughts would be?
(Of course it wouldn’t store any info from characters or log them (for privacy reasons))
This is something rather interesting to see, but I don’t see it working due to the no-object rule in place (rip Toyota Chaser). I see this more as surveillance rather than an idea, which brought privacy among me and other players into question.
As such, if you flew The Bird over to Salagalu airspace, they will be promptly shot down.
