[Suggested Feature] Toggle OOC and/or Tab Chats

Just a small idea I was thinking of. OOC may be easy to differentiate from IC, but what if there were a way to toggle OOC altogether?

Like, it wouldn’t REMOVE it, per se, but simply make it invisible until the OOC is toggled back on?

Or if that isn’t enough, what if there were a way to split the IC and OOC Chats vertically, or even create tabs that filter out what chats you can and can’t see?

As simple of a suggested feature as this is, there may be a chance it’s already been suggested. If that is the case, sorry if it’s a repeat!

I’d say separating them is generally a bad idea that will promote two parallel discussion threads. Having an option to hide OOC is nore reasonable but really, if people keep chatting OOC that much they can kindly be asked to move to a different place and don’t flood the room with OOC messaging.

A bit of nerd talk: Since IC and OOC messages have distinct and reliable class attributes in the underlying HTML, there’s an opportunity here for a clever hacker to make a browser extension that does all this client-side!

(Not it… ooc :touches his nose)

One of the difficulties with doing this would be that moderators and other admin folks usually would give instructions, warnings, etc via OOC. The system would need a way to prioritize those messages coming through.
