I have an idea for a store in Sinder that I’ve yet to see for a while, it wouldn’t be a huge massive building but merely a small one. My vision is to have this store be a pawn shop / tiny food shop where customers can come in and sell off their goods or purchase some food for themselves, with fridges in the back containing drinks! Shelves with snacks like chips, candies, perhaps even some cereal boxes?
At the front of the store, the counter to be exact. Customers could find a shelf behind the counter containing smokes like cigarettes and weed, (for the people who are so addicted they need a constant supply) and it would also be a great way to have people purchase these objects through roleplay. With a few adult toys behind the counter for those who need a quick release. I can envision this place as I’m currently building it. And in my opinion, I am proud to say that I believe it would make for some great roleplay opportunities including the pawn shop where you can come in and find any item imaginable that is still somewhat reasonable to find! Or perhaps you could bump into a friend while buying some frozen beef!
I would personally like to hear the community’s thoughts on this idea of mine.

I like the concept, but I think it’d help if it was more focused. Food, weed, dildoes and a pawn shop sound like a very broad spread to me, especially given there’s Roxton Market in the docks to cover the grocery needs.
I think the pawn shop alone could be made in a lovely small spot if you spend some time on the environment storytelling. If you remove the grocery bit then it doesn’t have to be large and you could have it in some less expected place, like the sewers (although when I hear pawn shops I think of the city of winds anyway).
My idea for it isn’t set in stone yet, but the relative concept is that I think a small store that could act as what one could believe is a 7/11, where you can buy snacks, drinks, and the tiniest amount of foods like perhaps a hotdog on a stand near the register.
When I’m thinking of the place to put it, I generally think of Sinder as it is the main attraction for most users and I didn’t even know of the Roxton Market’s existence until now. I wasn’t thinking of the main Sinder lane or near the Foxhole but somewhere in Sinder regardless, perhaps close to the large assumed school building, or it could be found off near the stables, but that is just my opinion since the shopping in Sinder seems rather lackluster for such a high-population town.

I mean, that’s the core of the problem, isn’t it? This kind of a place is already there and it’s not too well known or visited, even though the main Sinder travel loop is tiny.
I think there are two primary things we’re looking for in new areas: they need to either tell a story or be a good social hub. Even if you tick off on both boxes, Sinder, as an area, is already somewhat crowded. That’s why there’s a City of Woodford, which is basically an overflow space (and it doesn’t have a grocery!) Due to that, it’d be really hard to accommodate a new shop within Sinder itself.
I am not telling you ‘no, we can’t have it’, nor I actually have the authority to do so. But if you’re set on getting a place in Sinder itself you need to not only come with an idea alone, but with a compelling build, too.
Trash mouse would love a 7/11. We kinda need one in Umber methinks. Please yeah, as Shin said. Please don’t make this a whole everything plus sex toys build though. Try and think a narrow objective of roleplay to be had here and focus tightly. I want… ‘convenience store’. Parking lot, main store. Bout all it needs to be.
