Realm Rules Notice: No Object Characters and No Trademarked Names

Hello, Wolfery users! Two new rules are being put into place: No Object Characters and No Trademarked Names

No Object Characters
You might ask, what is an object character?

An Object Character is a character who does not have autonomy or personality. They cannot act independently and require outside forces in order to act. By this definition, a mundane car would be in violation, but a plush toy possessed by a ghost would not be.

If you need to describe an object, consider using the desc command! It’s very useful for setting a scene and describing things that might not be apparent in character or room descriptions. Check out the help desc command for more information. If you want to have an alternate profile for your character where they’re piloting a vehicle or similar, that’s okay – use one of your profiles and keep your name set to the pilot, rather than the name of the vehicle. After all, you’re playing as your character operating the vehicle, and not the vehicle.

No Trademarked Names
No assigning character names to that of trademarked IP, businesses, entities, or brands (similar to the no canon characters rule).

Consider using gender/species fields if you need to detail specifics. Here are some examples:
Pikachu Pikachu would not be a valid username because Pikachu is a trademarked IP.
Ashley the Pikachu would be a valid username, because it refers to a character named Ashley, who happens to be a Pikachu.

As this rule was only recently implemented, the moderation team may send you a message warning you gently that change is necessary over the next few days. Additionally, because the rule is new, it may be revised over the coming days. The moderation team reserves the right to request users who they believe are acting in bad faith to change their name or other details.

Characters are intended to be used for characters, not as objects and props or to exclusively advertise another character’s status.

There may be support system development for vehicles or objects in the future (time permitting for the development needed) ~but~ for now usage of describe command, profiles on pilots and room/character descriptions otherwise should get the job done just fine.
