Question about Profile formatting (Resolved)

Hi there! just wondering is there a way to link another player’s profile in a markdown list on your ‘about’ section?

An example:
If I have a “Family” section and want to link an active member’s profile as a clickable link that say opens up the profile panel like you were clicking it off the list of players on the left panel, is that possible and if so, can anyone provide the syntax for that or point me in the direction of like a formatting guide?

Any help with this would be awesome, thanks!

This issue was answered by Kaye Crane, thank you! <3

Answer: basically this function is not currently possible, instructing people to use the in game commands such as ‘whois’ is the best possible solution at the moment.

Welcome to the forum!

Mmm, that is actually a nice idea. I don’t see why it shouldn’t be possible to create links that open up an “About character” dialog window.

I wonder how such a link syntax would look like? Maybe something like:

[Accipiter Nisus](char#CHARACTER_ID)

Maybe! It would be cool for sure, not a major NEED but new features are always fun to think about!

If you have the ID, the system should know the name already, no? Unless you want to change or customize it (but then it may be out of date if changed). Of course looking up a bunch of names on the fly to render them might be slightly taxing or laggy, too.

I was thinking that a custom URI scheme (mucklet:) might be cool, but I suspect on doing a little reading that this might not work, captured deep links might be more the way to go (“https://wolfery.com/tag/char/…” or just “/char/…” - the # might be more usual for this).

Would it make any sense to have it cross-realm capable, or are they distinct namespaces that can’t be referenced and accessed together? (I’m guessing the latter, since the retained model appears to be for a single realm instance, but one can dream.)
