Puppets and controller

Is there something (like a rule) that can be done about obscuring the name used to control a puppet? This is obviously agains the intended spirit of the rules, where you know who is controlling a puppet.

Not here to downplay your remark, but I personally like being able to see who is portraying a puppet. That’s just me, though.

Ah I think I was unclear. I also like to know who is controlling a puppet. What I am requesting is a rule or something about obscuring your own name (or using an alt, or whatever is going on here) to hide the fact that you are the one controlling a puppet. The name above is pretty clearly garbage, and seems to be intended to obscure who’s on the puppet, which, at least to me, seems to be against the spirit of this feature. So I would like people to not bypass it.

Ahah! I misunderstood. Well then! That does make sense.

Miranda is a special case with puppets as anyone who registers her is automatically accepted. Usually it is at the puppet owner’s discretion who is able to play as a puppet. Also set the conduct they expect out of puppets and.. evict bad actors.

I would assume having a garbage name character not interested in roleplaying is reportable in itself. But just read who is playing the puppet and adjust your trust levels accordingly. Might be nice to have some sort of report system to give logs to the puppet owner, but I think this whole system operates best on some level of trust.

Actually, not automatically accepted.
It is just me who manually accept any request made to puppeteer Miranda :).

However, I’ve never seen any such strange name.
But I don’t think it really matters if the name is strange or not - it is still an identifier.
If a player uses a character with a garbage/anonymous name, or changes the name after registration to a garbage/anonymous name, it is still linked to the same account.

But, to answer the initial question;
I guess it is up to the puppeteer owner if they only accept puppeteering requests only from known characters. There is no rule against “anonymous” puppeteers in general. And for Miranda, I have had no such restriction.

As a moderator I’d look on this negatively and ask for it to stop politely.

I would also take it as an aggravating factor if something were done to harass a player or quietly try to violate an NCO, etc under such a circumstance.
