Pre-Supporter Question on Realms

So let’s say I were to become a Supporter for a month, and began working on a Realm that is far more than just 5 areas.

I reach 60, and it is going great! But due to Copyright reasons (the Realm is based on/named after/is a clear-copy of an already-copywritten place from a popular movie) it has to remain Private, to avoid any lawsuits hitting Wolfery.

What I wanna know is, if I were to pause from paying the monthly fee, what would happen to the other 55 areas after the first 5? Would they still be there, would they be locked behind a paywall until I can cough up the $10 again, would they just completely be deleted altogether, or Something Else, like “Time-Limit 'Til Deletion” kinda deal?

And would the same thing happen to Realms that are linked to the main hub already?

Hi! And welcome to the forum!

Supporter room cap

Being a supporter doesn’t increase the max owned room limit.
It does increase character cap, character profile cap, and room profile cap. But it doesn’t increase room cap.

My logic for this is that - I want the number of rooms each player can build to be decided by the realm owner/admin. I imagine there will be things like scripted MUD-like realms where an admin sets the room cap to zero, to create a static world. Or realms where room cap increase can be used as an in-realm reward.

Reversal of supporter perks

For other things, like character cap, there is currently no reversal once the supporter status ends. That is mainly because I haven’t prioritized it. Post-supporters keep all their characters, but they cannot create new ones as long as they have 5 or more.

Eventually, I will wish to reverse it in a good manner, such as allowing you to select which 5 characters to continue to use, while the rest of the characters become “frozen”. And once there is a free slot (one of the 5 is deleted), a frozen character can take that slot.

But right now, it is not a high priority thing to develop.

Cue suddenly opaque exits and blurred/quartered images as it’s over 1MB and the owner didn’t keep up with their subscription (or transferred the room to another account…). :smiling_face_with_horns:

Honestly, I’m surprised those GIFs some people use even fit into 4MB. WebM support? Although I think Animated WebP should work too (and ideally APNG), but I get:

Internal error: failed to create file core.char.img.f8iqqd75d4u6a11hi320: Error decoding image: {error}

The web browser itself correctly decodes the image to preview it, animated even.

I read through this and immediately questioned ‘Why not allow in use characters to be frozen to give space for a currently frozen one?’

But… then it’s no different from choosing to wake up any of your other characters, just with one other checkbox, eh?

I don’t intend on losing my supporter status any time soon, but it’s good to know that I won’t lose all the character design work I’ve put into my plethora of critters.

I’ve been hearing about animations.
This is actually more of a bug than it is a feature. I never intended animation support, but it rather came is part of me leaving the original gif-image.

I would have to look into this as well.
