An ability to re-organize the order of our characters in the character selection list, similarly to the interface for organizing room entrances and exits. This system could be triggered by a small button next to the player settings button, or could just be a panel IN player settings, say, “Character Order” or something like that.

What? You don’t like the default sort order by the hidden ID which weakly correlates to character creation date?
But in all serious; Yes. I agree. This would be a nice touch. Probably something under the Character Settings to keep it from cluttering the Character Select panel.
