The following is an extract from La Faille February edition:
Void Assimilates Nox Aetherna. Who’s Next?
The nothingness outside of the Rift, colloquially known as Void took another victim. Nox Aetherna, a plague-riddled town appeared from the Void mists many years ago, when the link to it was discovered in the Obsidian Plateau Research Facility. However, due to some Unforeseen Consequences, the link disappeared today as abruptly as it appeared.
Unfortunately, trixens can’t find their way to Nox anymore either. Time will tell if it’s forever lost in Void or there’s a chance for it to come back.
It’s probably for the best. That place always felt a teensy bit abandoned - and frankly, some areas were unsafe, with medical equipment just lying around without proper supervision.
It’s got a good location, though, ample space and a water supply, so perhaps with redevelopment it can become the Riviera of the Night!
Perhaps it felt like that because I wanted it to? It was a gothic, horror-themed place, and making it feel that way was my aim. If you felt that way, it means I did a good job as a writer.
If nobody has visited recently, that’s a shame, but in the old, glorious days, we had visitors and a lovely story unfolding.
I loved my place too much to leave it unsupervised; therefore, as my intellectual property, I asked that it be hidden.
[Yes! I was speaking sort-of-in-character for it, like the original post. Think a letter to the paper. GreenKai has been all around, remembers the abandoned hospital the most. Assuming that’s not another gothic, horror-themed place.]
