New Region: Tir Na Nog

Greetings! I am making a post on the forums as a region that I have been working on has been developed to a good state recently, and I hope that this is the correct place to post submissions like this. In any case, the overview of the region in question is as follows.

Tir Na Nog is a mixed wilderness and city area (particularly the latter) loosely styled after fairylands of legend and paradisiacal afterlives in media, with idyllic plains, a ramshackle city with deliberately anachronistic elements, and forests to its north and south. As the name suggests, the city is inhabited by the eternally-young, and is intended to be a space for non-sexual babyfur play, age regression themes, and general child character play without sexual content. While the aesthetics are rather specific, I think that the intended themes that it deals with are relatively untapped in the game at the moment, and thus that the area could have a solid niche.

I am currently planning on making a town hall and library for the city’s administrative district, and I am also planning on fleshing out a part of the city dedicated to middle childhood and adolescence. If any other builders wanted to add to those parts, their contributions would be greatly appreciated.

As for links, I have been thinking of two areas primarily. The entrance room is intended to link up with a forest environment, and thus I have naturally though of an entrance being in the forest, specifically the eastern side of it that is not too filled up. I have also considered the Sacred Valley as a location for it, providing that the builders there are okay with it, and the more fantastic element to that area might better fit with its otherworldly theme.

Almost want to suggest a ring of mushrooms or other such entrance in the Dark Forest to lead off to the new area and/or place it on an island.

That sounds like a fair idea, actually! Was walking around the forest again to scout for sites once more and realized that it seems like the west actually looked like it had more space to grow into? I initially wanted to leave the Dark Forest untouched as I assumed that someone else had plans for it, but if it’s open it would make for a good candidate, and the mushroom ring teleport idea both takes away the space problem and fits the theme.

I mean, yeah.
Being Tir Na Nog, it could be an island and the ring just whisks you there. So you could plant port points here and there because fey are crafty bastiches.

Yeah the island idea makes more sense both from the logistic difficulties of stashing a small city somewhere in the woods and in terms of fitting the historical legend more. I think I’m going to make a docking area south of the current entrance room and have that be an alternate entrance location for the ferry. The current one can serve as the place you get teleported to through the fairy ring.

On further thought, I have decided to keep the area situated in a mainland forest, simply because I like that aesthetic a bit more than a forested island. I do appreciate the suggestion of an island though as it does fit with the legend better, and I think that I will keep that as a backup idea in case I cannot find a good link on the mainland, or if a spot on the ferry is offered.
