[NEW AREA SUGGESTION] Sinder Taur Cafe

The Taur Café is a warm, welcoming corner of Sinder designed to feel like a deep breath after a long day.

Soft golden lighting spills across wide, comfortable seating made with extra space in mind, nothing cramped, nothing rushed. The smell of fresh coffee, baked pastries, and sweet tea lingers in the air like a constant invitation to stay a little longer.

The walls are lined with gentle wood tones, plants that are clearly cared for by someone who talks to them, and little handmade decorations that give the place a lived-in, personal charm. Quiet music plays in the background—soft, steady, comforting. The kind that doesn’t demand attention, just fills the silence kindly.

It’s a place made especially for taur characters to relax without worry or stares, but everyone is welcome as long as they bring kindness with them. Big booths, open spaces, and cozy corners make it easy to settle in however you need.

No pressure to be anything. No expectations. Just a safe, friendly café where you can sit, rest, and feel like you belong for a while.

The Taur Café doesn’t ask much from anyone.

Just come as you are, friends. and stay as long as you need.

Is Miranda’s Cafe not taur-friendly? Ooooh, do we need to picket outside with taur accessibility signs? I’d love to hear some ideas for pithy slogans.

(Let’s not ACTUALLY protest Miranda’s. XP It was just the first thing that came to mind!)

[Big Booths or Big Problems!]

I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic or not.

Not sarcastic! Just having fun with the idea of taur accessibility!

It is kind of difficult lore wise for my taur to get around the club, foxhole, and cafe due to the bias in construction of being primarily anthro.
There are no actual spots for Taur’s or ferals that require much larger seats.

There’s the question of there being not all that many taur characters, and in general when I play one I want to mingle with everyone, not just other taurs. But for that same reason I don’t see why we can’t have two taur-places: given that they are comfort areas (as opposed to hubs), more is better.

Perhaps it could open up as a public extension to the existing Taurhome Lodge area on Wing? There’s no café in town there, and I don’t feel that comfortable dropping a character into the existing place to chat seeing as it’s styled as a home for taurs.

Honestly?

Pointless self-segregation.

Every character can fit into every place. I’ve seen fifty-seven foot cats in the Park, and inside of ‘buildings’ without an issue other than mentioning they were cramped but not much more.

Same goes for 'taurs, dragons, huge ferals, or just incredibly tall characters. They just fit where they need to fit. Sure, they can RP up their size but it’s their character to RP, or limit as they so choose.

No need to build any particular area specifically for them which would just lead toward segregation among archetypes which is not what the Rift is about.

It could be about that if you could use a script to check someone’s tags. Like, the kobold village cave entry could give a different message if you were +small or not, and forbid entry if +large.
