So for the past few days when I log into wolfery the site reloads and says “Site can’t be reached” or something like that but I’ve been able to get past that by reopening the tab at a certain time- Now whenever I log in it says “Something went wrong, access denied-“
I’ve tried everything from changing browsers, changing my password, doing it on my PlayStation, my vr, but nothing works. Incognito, regular, nothing. Even cleared all data and cache stuff too
This has happened to me before and I’ve heard a few others mention such as well. Is there any way to reset or fix this sort of login issue when it happens?
Hi @Chloe !
Thanks for your info! Yeah, this is some issue that I have yet to understand why it happens.
You’ve even cleared data and cache and changed browser?!
Wow..
Okay, there goes my theory that it was somehow due to the access tokens stored as browser cookies.
Great to know though!
Hmm, by the way. Are you trying to use multiple accounts on the same browser but in different tabs? If so, then I’d suggest using a different browser/incognito for the secondary account.
I’ll try to add some debug logging to the client to help us get more info on this issue, so that we can get rid of it!
Thank you for the suggestion! Unfortunately, I just went through all of my accounts and deleted all the history/cache/cookie data on each of them, and it still didn’t fix anything. I have no idea why this is going on-
Should I try to delete the stuff for the other devices too or would me deleting it on here already do that?
Sorry for the late reply. @Kookierhondje helped remind me.
This reply is mostly a reply I gave to them, but I thought best to send it here directly.
Hmm. More deletion wouldn’t help.
But.. it is just.. odd…
This differs from the errors others has encountered with cookies. Simply because the clearing of cookies and changing browser does not remove the issue.
So, if it is not the browser, the cookies, or the device, then my next guess is the network.
Wolfery is heavily dependent on WebSockets. My next guess would be that the Internet provider somehow blocks WebSocket connections. This is sometimes a case when connecting from a company’s network where the company’s IT department has heavily restricted what is allowed, including WebSocket connections
Could that be the case?
To check, try with a mobile device using mobile network to check if that might be the case.
Another thought is if it may be related somehow to your specific account, and that I have a bug somewhere on the login server.
To check that, try creating a completely new account from the same device/browser that has failed you on your main account. If that works, but your other account fails, then I have a bug!
What I would otherwise need to help out would probably be screenshots on the errors. Both from the Chrome Devtools’ (Press F12l to open) Network and Console tabs:
(This screenshot may contain access cookie information and should not be publicly uploaded, but only sent to me directly.)
We can try with that for now, see if we can find out something.
I just made a new account entirely, on Chrome and Wolfery. I am able to get on now, so I’m assuming it’s just a bug for that specific account- I am unable to send screenshots of the error messages since I don’t use a computer, I use my phone
Would it just be easier to collect the character info and paste it into my new account and then delete the old characters afterward? That might help cause less stress for you
Great to know that it is a bug that erm.. that I’ve caused. But that is great to know still!
I’ve sent a private message with some further instructions on how we can proceed.
