Hey, it’s been a while, but it’s ya boy, Jett — aka the owner of Joystix Arcade in Sinder.
Some of y’all might not even know me since I took a break from wolfery a while back, and the longer I stayed away, the harder it became for me to return. I’m not here to say, “I’M BACK, BABY, AND ALL IN!” but I would like to leave Joystix in a more evergreen state than it currently is.
Over the next couple of weeks, I plan to clean up descriptions and images to make everything more cohesive and remove most of the old hyperlink text. I want to make sure the arcade exists for as long as y’all want it to, in a condition that isn’t dependent on me actively running it or on an image I linked three years ago still existing.
Just bear with me a little bit, because I’ve literally forgotten most of the commands and am relearning them as I go.
With that said, you might see me around a little more. I’ll try to finish what I start here as a small contribution to a site and a community that have given me so many good memories.
I’m hoping this ends up being more of a “Continue” than a “Game Over.”
Hey, welcome back! I mean, not that I think we ever met, but I finished the maze and got a prize… if you’re looking for a more room-count friendly approach, I know at least one player has done a static-room maze script.
Always great to hear from you. If you are reworking Joystix. Good to know that archive.org is back and working again. All of the links had been previously removed.
Thanks, I’m definitely interested in learning more. Just be warned, I don’t have any experience with implementing scripts and it all might go over my head, lol.
Good looking out, I took down those links when I noticed the archive stopped working, I just I hope I backed up those links somewhere…
But it might be for the best if I can’t find them, this is a good example of what I’m looking to clean up. Do I depend on an outside link to work in the design, or do I just do a plain ol’room description without links and everyone would just have to use their imaginations?
I’d be interested in hearing folks opinions on it.
Hmmm… I think the person you want to talk to is Otis Hedger, unfortunately they’ve been asleep since December though you could try mailing them to see if that brings them out of hibernation.
Failing that GreenKai Ree could at least show you it in Tangleroot so you have an idea of how it could work.
