I’m not sure if this a bug or something new they’ve implimented. Been having an issue where it is ‘dc’ing me’.. after 10, 15 minutes of afkness. I have friends on who are not dc’ing for forever, but now its ‘I alt tab to change a video or that’ and it kicks me back to character select, or log out. Kinda frustrating.
I’m wondering if its an issue with my browser cash or something, or its a new ‘anti-afk’ system that was implimented.
A while ago I was told that using this URL might fix that kind of issue, when it was happening to me for a while. https://wolfery.com/?charPing.method=ws Maybe this’ll help?
What browser are you using? I’ve been having a bit of trouble with validation issues every couple days, but I just chalk that up to my VPN being wonky.
I’ve had a few issues with Chrome based browsers in the past. I couldn’t point to any one thing though that definitively suggests it’s your browser. Either way, might be solid to play around with another and see if it still happens!
Why I ask is because the client or server does not actually require a constant connection, but should handle disconnects and reconnects without much disruption (except a little reconnect spinner showing on mobile devices).
From your post, it sounds like your character is put to sleep automatically while idling.
While this is possible, the auto-sleep configuration is set to 1 hour from your character’s last wakeup or “ping” (which the client is meant to send with frequent intervals while connected).
If the pinging stops, it should take 1 hours before your character is put to sleep.
