How to: Wolfery Minigame!

Given its limited capabilities on what we can do in Wolfery, I decided to try something different to hopefully give some players another form of entertainment if they are ever bored or hanging out with other players. The dice system that was implemented a couple of months ago brought some form of entertainment which is helpful if a group of players was using their character to play Dragon & Dungeons or in a combat situation, but I took advantage of the dice system and created a luck-based minigame!

Here is a step-by-step on how to create a minigame.

  1. Find a suitable room

The first step is to find a room that would be suitable for the minigame. It can be in the comfort of your character’s room or in some cases, a build. For this demonstration, I will be creating a Fish Cup room as this is a luck-based minigame. You can find other ways such as axe throwing or apple bobbing.

  2. Create an instruction on how to play the game

Give it a brief description of what this minigame is about, and how to play the game. Optionally, you can set up some legends on what to expect if the player lands a specific number. In this case, I’d heavily suggest that you don’t put the winning number so as to not spoil the fun.

  3. Creating a hidden exit
    image
For this, you type in Get Room ID and then copy the room ID. From there, you are going to create a room, set up the exit name (so you don’t get confused when assigning number), toggle off Create New Room and paste the ID in. You wanna make sure the exits lead to the same room that you’re in and not to another room. Keep in mind that you will be doing this a few more times depending on what you want.

  4. Setting up the hidden exits.
    image
Now that you created your exits, it’s time to set them up! On each exits that leads to the same room, you can assign a desired winning and losing numbers (as shown in the screenshot). For this demonstration when you couldn’t decide on what number you want to assign you can google “Number Picker” and it will bring up the google search’s number picker. On each exits, you will need to edit the exit message for leave, arrival, and travel. The travel message is only seen by you and both leave and arrival is seen by other people. If you intend on having multiple lose messages, you are free to do so. On the win messages you can basically copy and paste it on other win messages as long as it pertains to the intended prize. Last step is to enableIs Hidden box so the exit room will remain hidden.

And there you have it! Your very own luck-based minigame. I tried to make this simple but this is something that I would love for people to see and use.

Happy trails!
