Blockquotes have been a feature of Markdown since the beginning, and it’d be nice to have some in this homebrew implementation. As I have mentioned elsewhere, I write letters over mail with some frequency, usually with a little preamble of coming with a gift. I then have to put the body of the letter in italics, but a blockquote (indented, perhaps with a subtle left border) would be much better.
