So I’m sure people will think the wrong thing here, but I have gone over the boards everywhere and not found a SINGLE piece relating to “What is the legal age of consent” - As someone who lives where 16 is the legal age, but also knowing places like America say 18 is the legal age, leaving this as a nebulous number through the site seems unwise.
My question is simple: For Public Zones, such as the Station Park, what [IS THE LEGAL AGE] so folks can avoid being poked and pestered about the content going on, as again - the Legal Age is different for various places around the world and Clarification would be appreciated. I’m ignoring everyone who is NOT a Moderator/the Creator as they’re the ones who know the rules for this, not you Builders or Forum readers. Please don’t post your “Opinion” on the age range until those who are activly the Rule Makers respond.
But yeah, it’d be good to know what Sinder’s rules mean by “sexualized minors” as that leaves 15-20s in a grey area (n.b. “age of majority” also differs from “age of consent”).
ToS updates refer to “childlike appearance”, which is subjective but with a given reason. That reason might also apply to Sinder, and if so that language could be used instead.

We have been somewhat trying to avoid pronouncing on this topic as this age does vary by region. As Greenreaper mentioned, some things are left in a grey area but there is some advantage to things being in a grey area.
I think that was the point; Station Park was noted as a region of “maximum hassle” over age. But lower ages are permitted in many other places:
“16+” (most of Salagalu, Nox Aetherna)
“13+”, no hard kinks such as noncon/violence/blood/scat (Seziban)
“If those present consent” (Bamboo Forest, Volpizza)
“[Between under-18s who] reasonably understand and consent, [with] at least moderate sexual development” (Cascade Island, Patchwork¹)
“Ageplay [is] Public Okay” (Lamplight, the Temple on Wing, Lil’ Campers in the Forest Campgrounds, Black Market)
Areas permitting public ERP plus nonspecific “extreme roleplay” (most of Umber Point, the Underground, areas of Willowmere)
Basically, just don’t spend all your time hanging around Sinder et. al., get out there and bring your friends if you want to play.
¹ Builders: there’s an issue here; Patchwork conflicts with Lamplight’s pre-existing and overriding rule “Flirtation and sexual activities are permitted between characters of any age, in all areas of this zone.”

I think they mean that in the context of, if you’re playing an ageplay driven/themed character, you’re most likely to be hassled/moderated in Sinder’s town limits - particularly around the Station Park, where people congregate the most?
Yes, I’m trying to find out what the Age Limit is considered “Legal” for the Station. Do characters have to be 18 years old to do ANYTHING AT ALL? Even be teased with flirting? Because I got yelled at for flirting with a character who was 16 and my character is 16 - which in my region of the world is LEGAL - but someone yelled at us that we were breaking the “No age-play rules” and it confused me since there is NO posting stating what the legal age is in the area for the forums.
I just want Clarification on this, no grey-area because that leads to people yelling at folks for no reason or for the WRONG reasons. If the Station/Sinder is Characters 18+ then yeah I get it. But if it’s Just (Player 18+ Character Grey-Area) then it’s not helping us understand what is publicly acceptable play. Also - I have no idea why this ended up in “realm & Areas” I thought I was in the General area of the forum when I posted this.

Please let us know if CHARACTER AGE LIMIT is 18+ for the area. I understand it being 18+ for Players. But my character is 16(Legal age for my region even though I’m in my 40s) and I’d like to know if I’m going to have to make a new desc showing him as 18 for Public in Sinder/Stantion Square/etc areas.
And from what I’ve seen that appears to be the general consensus anyway… although it’s possible that’s because I’m in the US and am online with most people are in the US as well.
As this map shows it’s a bit weird from a European perspective (vs. USA/Africa/Middle East), but as you say many furs will be used to 18 and it’s both the upper limit and default in e.g. the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. Notwithstanding that it only applies to humans.
I am of a mind that dating is not inherently a sexual thing, and romance can be PG. If it were taboo, then it wouldn’t feature in children’s movies (See: Almost anything Disney). I tend to go by the rule of “If I couldn’t get away with it in a Disney movie, I probably shouldn’t be doing it in Sinder,” and that has been a pretty solid guide for most of my actions.
Holding hands and hugging? Fine. Kissing on the cheek? Fine. A SINGLE peck on the lips? Fine if kept innocent and sweet. Anything beyond that? Boy oh boy, are those sirens I am hearing?
…And I say this as someone who mav’d pretty hard lately and accidentally lewded somewhere I shouldn’t have… Accidents happen. Folks should probably be err on the side of forgiveness and education, rather than punitiveness. But that is an entirely different conversations.
Honestly, I think 18 is probably the general go-to age for what I consider “adult”. Anything below that is purely case by case. Most Europeans would say 16, probably.

Hmm, I feel like this could use clarification from staff as well. It is my understanding that area owners are allowed to moderate their own areas to some degree. Obviously, this should be done respectfully and no one should be yelled at and no one should claim to be staff.
If that doesn’t resolve the issue, then that is what the report command is for.
