It’s a small issue but it becomes really frustrating in conversations with someone in whispers.
Yesterday I thought I fixed it because I had a command on my GPU software that used the same keybindings, but once I changed it, it worked again. Fast forward to today and upon turning my computer on again the issue is back. Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening, I’m getting sick of repeatedly typing out my friend’s names if we aren’t in the same room.
It seems to be also present as an issue on MacOS because alt (Option)+R gets you ®. Shift+alt+r is Â.
There doens’t appear to be a way to disable that.
However, it’s laso down to the Browser. On Safari, it semi works - you’ll get a reply… with ® added because apparently two things can be true at once.
Under Chromium based browsers it’s Lol-nope, even after unbinding alt+r in the Browser hotkeys.
It would be useful if there was a UI button vs. the somewhat awkward Go-To-Message-Then-Click-Tiny-Kebab-Icon-Then-Select-Reply sequence.
Like… Just a button that does what alt+r is supposed to do?
It would be neat if you could assign alternative key binds, especially for this reason. Not sure how that works on a web page, but I’ve had multiple applications try to hook alt-r, and recently my GPU software as well. Infuriating trying to track that down.
