About becoming a helper!

Howdy! I have no idea where to put this, so I thought I’d try to place it here and help out!

Furthermore, I’m kind of wondering where I’d be able to donate and help keep this all running.

I’ve been playing MUD’s since the 90’s, and still occasionally play quite a few. (Dwarf Fortress still being something I’ve stuck around) I tend to enjoy the semi-complex text systems, and enjoy teaching people about them, as I’ve done with Dwarf Fortress for a while.

I also enjoy world-building, making events for people and have quite a bit of experience in doing so.

I found this site not too long ago, and quickly fell in love with the interface, the MUD like setting, and the people.

I run around as Cassandra McNamara, for reference. I’m very aware helpers don’t do much more then fix tickets, and help people learn the interface, which can probably come off a little intimidating to user who isn’t used to MUD’s.

Whilst a wiki and help commands certainly can be helpful, having somebody around who you can ask can help it feel a lot less daunting and prevent information overload.

To sum this all up, I’d like to help, and haven’t the foggiest idea how I would go about contacting somebody to be able to do so!

Ay the moment Accipiter is making a built in system for this and it may be available soon.

As for the helper, I believe it is more of an inside thing decided by the mods, helpers and community, so posting here was definitely a good choice ^w^.

Yup! Hopefully they reply!

Just be good to people, helpful and correct about what you’re talking about and also not getting into fights/reports/warnings/suspensions with the users or the staff.

Kinda one of those things where 'if you’re already regularly doing the job regardless of having a title for it because there’s not enough coverage, then someone might notice and ask you when the staff observes a shortage of people to handle it.

There’s no point to anybody wearing tag that they don’t need or plan actually use after all, right? Not like the tag is a trophy or anything, just a badge conveying a responsibility. ^^

That’s fair enough!

I simply know there’s not many helpers and was wanting to help out.

There’s no real trophy to responsibility, it’s an obligation you make to others to do what you’ve agreed to.

That’s more or less it. I asked a helper where and how you would go about it. He told me my best bet was to come here and ask.

Even though I would love to become a helper, I’ve been hesitant to join the team since I felt that I didn’t know the entire core of Wolfery, yet. I’m still making a map if people are confused about where to go, but it’s a nice way for me to help out the community.
