So, I finally got past the creation stage on my tavern, it’s a medieval theme, catering to just about anyone, as long as they’re old enough to drink, inspired by a tavern the owner, an OC of mine, used to visit from back in his home town. I’m trying to make it a small, cozy little place, and plan to take suggestions for rooms in the future, ideally I would love to have it placed somewhere in or near really any forest, but as long as it’s easily accessible I don’t mind where it’s put, currently I need someone to come in and make sure it’s fully complete, make sure I haven’t missed anything
Heya! Builder here, and I happen to care for the Forest. I took a look at the space. n_n I’m not sure it fits the theme of The Forest proper since it ranges from historic to modern, but it could certainly connect via the Dark Forest. Given that it’s themed to be for gods and ancient beings, somewhere hidden and mysterious feels right to me! There are a couple more medieval-style Areas, though, which might match better. What do you think? Feel free to reach out to me in-game, too. If you’re looking to have it linked publicly, it will need some work, such as fixing spelling errors, making punctuation and tone consistent with exits, disambiguating the rules, and possibly resolving some art rights concerns. I tend to AFK a lot in-game, so feel free to drop me a message! n_n
Ideally, a medieval style area would be preferred, as that’s pretty much perfect to what I’ve imagined for the area, I might need assistance touching up the exits as that was giving me a lot of trouble, and I’d appreciate some clarification on what’s meant by disambiguating the rules
Heya! When I reviewed them, they was some rules which were unclear, or read more like suggestions. I think one overlapped with a Realm rule, so was redundant. It’s important for any public Area rules to be as concise and clear as possible. I’ll be honest, the less is written, the more likely people are to read it! Vagueness causes confusion, so rather than trying to describe soft boundaries, which often fit better as role play guidelines in the Area description, it’s best to focus on strict limitations or guidelines. So, for an unrelated example, let’s say you had an area that you wanted to be SFW with only light flirting allowed as far as ‘Public Displays of Affection’ between characters goes. Instead of saying, “try not to take it too far” you might instead say something more clear like, “please take role play involving PDA private if asked OOC to do so.”
If you’d like, we can go over them together when we’re both around in-game! n_n Feel free to message or mail me, and I’ll reply when I’m able.
For any future folk in the thread, I plan to keep this area unconnected to any public areas due to a change in how the area will operate, it works much better as a private spot for my OC and whoever they invite then it does public access, I appreciate all the help getting it set up, but I will not be linking it to a public space
