"Good evening, citizens of Pieradyne. I know many of you have seen the message that was unlawfully broadcast Last night. I want to begin by making this clear: the so-called ‘Secondhand’ does not represent the people of this city, they represent fear, chaos, and desperation. Their attempt to threaten the unity and safety of Pieradyne will not succeed.
Pieradyne was built on resilience. We rose from a failing city into the beating heart of interplanetary commerce. We’ve faced blackouts, corporate sabotage, cyber-terrorism, and every time, we’ve rebuilt stronger. This moment is no different.
The Mili-Med and our partnered security divisions have already initiated a coordinated response. Key sectors are being reinforced, surveillance networks are under audit, and counter-intrusion teams have traced the source of the broadcast to multiple decoy nodes beyond the Lower Districts. The perpetrators wanted visibility, what they’ll get is accountability.
We will not let criminals decide who feels safe in Pieradyne Rise. We will not let fear dictate our progress. And we will never allow those who thrive in the dark to dim the light we’ve built together. We stand ready, and we will rise, as we always have."
“Continuing our coverage of criminal events unfolding in Pieradyne Rise, earlier Mili-Med HQ was attacked. We have reports of a bombing that set the building ablaze. Officials are working tirelessly to evacuate all the patients and inmates from the building. Investigations are ongoing to determine who orchestrated this attack and why, but no further information has been revealed yet.”

Thanks to our generosity, this city has enjoyed a time of great security, great pleasure, great health, and an eye looking to the future. With our vision, our city is protected. And if any poor soul is hurt, or lost. They are but a decision away from a better tomorrow. But that better tomorrow has now been put at risk. By people who would see your success, your happiness, and take it from you. As we’re sure you’re all aware, the Mili-Med Headquarters was recently the target of a heinous terrorist plot. And the officers of Mili-Med have our deepest sympathies, and our pledge to aid them in this difficult time. We have always prided ourselves on uplifting the unfortunate. This attack shocks us all. But it is no surprise that it coincides with the open threat that has been made. Secondhand believe themselves to have more right than you. But they do not. They seek to divide and incite fear with these attacks, and destroy what we have built. But we stand strong against this adversity”.
“Secondhand, we will not tolerate this threat. You have watched the horizon slip from your grasp, and blame us for leaving you behind. You feel that because you laid a foundation, you are entitled to this city’s future. But the future, and Pieradyne, has moved beyond you. Evolution, the next step, has already been taken. These towers have been built while you were idle. Progress was inevitable. It is our vision now. Join us, or continue to be forgotten. A new day dawns, with or without you. Your warning is heard, now hear ours. These attacks will not go unpunished.”
“This is a message to Daybreak Corporation. How very disappointing this ridiculous stance you’ve taken. Do you truly believe these empty words of your corporate propaganda would so easily sway the public of this corrupt city? We all know Daybreak profits off the desperate and helpless. It’s in your best interest to keep us down. By 6pm est tomorrow, you’d best clear the streets and hide in your expensive tower. The Secondhand is coming.”
“This is a city-wide alert. Shortly after six thirty pm last night, an unknown gas lingered in large sections of the town lit fire. The blaze continues to burn along the entire mainline. Citizens of Pieradyne are urged to seek shelter in Helix Plaza inside the Space Elevator. I repeat, a majority of the city is on fire. Mili-Med is not coming to lend aid; everyone should seek shelter in Helix Plaza immediately.”
"First, let me say this plainly; Pieradyne mourns together. Every home lost, every family displaced, every brave soul who stood against those flames; your courage will not be forgotten. The city will provide full support for all affected residents. Temporary housing, food, and medical care have been deployed to relief centers across the southern sectors.
Now, I know there are questions, and there should be. We have all seen the speculation, the rumors, the claims of sabotage. But after extensive investigation by the Mili-Med and Fire Control divisions, we have determined that the cause of the blaze was a catastrophic rupture in the natural gas main beneath the Mid-Line district.
This rupture caused a cascading series of explosions that ignited the dense housing and transport lines above it. Once the blaze spread through the older conduit systems, containment became near impossible. There is no evidence of coordinated attack or interference.
Let me be clear; this was a tragedy, not a plot. And I refuse to let grief be twisted into paranoia. The corporations that helped build this city, the very same that keep our towers standing, our shuttles flying, and our economy alive, are already pledging resources to rebuild what was lost. Together, public and private, we will restore Pieradyne stronger than before.
To the people of Pieradyne, do not let despair win. We have risen before. For those still standing, we endure. Pieradyne lives, and it will continue to rise."
