With the move of the entrance of the hostel to the park then they may want to consider doing the same for the cafe, because having an offshoot building ((you can see people in and those within can see out)) as an option to go to is a good escape from the big crowd if you still want to be seen but big crowd scare the crud out of you.
A suggestion might be a diner or something as well. I can help design something basic if need be or t someone else can fabricate.
Cheers.
EDIT: I was told to put.a suggested layout.
Simple 3 room design - Main room, kitchen/office, and restrooms. All optional.
The cafe used to be in the park as well. I believe the cafe and hostel were moved out of the park in order to move traffic of passerby’s. Let people see who was in the park before entering or moving on.
Miranda’s is kinda a diner? There’s the ramen stand and the seafood restaurant.
I think we’re veering back towards the old way of having Miranda’s link to the Park. We might even eventually get to the original design where Station Park was the center of Sinder. That’s not the current intent but if people wanted that I at least would be amenable.
To make everything clear, the exit was changed because of a concern that new players would exit the train station to an empty room. Moving the Hostel back to the Park seemed the least impactful way to encourage the Park to be the center of ‘general player interaction’ in Sinder, rather than moving the train station to the City Center or eliminating the City Center and going back to the Park being the travel hub of Sinder.
The two were originally split in part because of the concern about ‘travel spam’ before you could mute travel.
I think multiple places to drop into for more private conversation that people can see into and join if they know folks is a good thing. Allows for more venues for when places such as Miranda’s have a body count higher than a dozen going on.
The ramen place is nice, been there, would and will go again, but tucked away. Yes, good for exploration and those who know but most are going to skip past to find certain places.
I don’t like the idea of making the park the center of everything. There are times I do not want to have to traverse the park, because someone will definitely message me about where I’m going, or what I’m doing, or why did I leave in the first place?
I appreciate that Sinder’s teleport is not the main focus for the city (though I know we can’t help where people end up, more on that below). Even now, I will sometimes teleport to the forest to avoid a crowd.
That being said, you really can’t control where people end up. Even if you put everything on the park, there will be people like me who can’t manage 20 names, and won’t even bother to try. This is how the town center became popular recently. I’ll stay north, because “nope, too many people” and then the town center fills up, because we’re actually talking and such… and then the town center gets too busy, so I’ll go into the cafe. I’ll be damned if there aren’t a dozen people in the cafe in a few hours. Trying to herd cats [and others] into a specific room never works. People want to be where the action is.
