Feature Request: Do Not Disturb & Mail

As things are right now, if one has do not disturb enabled, they don’t get messages, but mail still goes through and shows up in the console.

At least for me, I use do not disturb when I don’t want any interruptions in the console. Especially since my poses can be on the longer side. Often exceeding the character limit for a single pose. Meaning, I have to break it up into multiple poses. Having them interrupted by mail can be annoying and distracting to RP.

It would be nice if do not disturb also applied to mail. I would imagine mail would simply go to the inbox, where it can be read later, and not show up in the console when do not disturb is active.

This would need to be an option, as there are some characters who expect mail to reach them so individuals can still contact them while they permanently set themselves DND.

I believe mail gives a notification dot on the mail icon/button in the awake tab, doesn’t it? I think the suggestion given would still allow that to happen so you’d still get an indication you still have new mail, it just wouldn’t also give you a message in the message window.

I don’t get mail all that often… or use dnd, so I don’t have an opinion on the matter either way. That’s just how I see what they said.

I always found it strange that mail is shown on my active display. It’s even shown in the same way as a message/page that it always takes me a moment to realize that it’s not the same. Even though it’s shown to me, it still shows as unread.

Which begs the question, why does it show at all? Simply show:
‘A new mail has arrived from <x>.’

This seems like a clean solution.
